We are the National Cattlemen’s Beef Association, and we come to work every day on behalf of our country’s nearly one million cattle farmers and ranchers.  We are committed to providing wholesome, nutritious food and to communicating accurate, science-based information about beef’s nutritional qualities and the role of beef in a healthful diet.


We have an exciting role open in our Denver-area office for the right candidate who will extend beef nutrition resources to health and nutrition professionals and bloggers through in-person and online engagement, targeted immersion experiences and outreach tools, ultimately providing increased visibility for beef and its benefits among this important audience. The right candidate will be a registered dietitian with 3-5 years of experience in food and nutrition communications. He/she will be skilled in project management, be a strong writer, a team player and be willing and able to roll up their sleeves and get stuff done.

  • Supports development of activities and attends health, nutrition and food blogging meetings and events, representing NCBA and the beef industry by proactively networking and sharing information with attendees.
  • Works with culinary team and other team members to provide recommendations on how to balance the nutritional aspect of beef with the culinary/innovative aspect of beef. Provides input on food photography, healthy lifestyle photography, video, menu development for certain events, etc.
  • With guidance from the team, contributes to nutrition-focused content creation including translation of nutrition research into practical application for health professionals and consumer takeaways.
  • Assists in the management of the speaker bureau program, including relationship building with speakers, topic development and marketing and state beef council support.
  • Facilitates collection of measurement for performance efficiency metrics (PEM) for the influencer team on a monthly and quarterly basis.
  • Stays abreast of new technologies and tools for communicating with health and nutrition professionals and bloggers as well as trending topics among these important audiences and proactively shares insights with team.
  • Contributes to the development and execution of effective outreach strategies for health and nutrition professionals and food bloggers such as presentations, infographics, collateral materials and talking points.
  • Engages with producers and producer-led committees as assigned.
  • Contributes, collaborates and shares content expertise with internal and external stakeholders.
  • Other duties as assigned.

  • Bachelor’s degree in nutrition, at minimum
  • Credentialed health professional, RD preferred
  • Three to five years of beef or food industry experience, as well as some experience with marketing, PR and/or other communications, from traditional to digital
  • Ability to understand scientific information and translate such information into written content suitable for a variety of audiences
  • Previous experience with the health professional community, in a health-focused culinary or food marketing setting
  • Excellent writing, management, planning, leadership, communication and interpersonal skills
  • Human relations skills, including style flexing, receiving constructive feedback, and active listening
  • Basic skills in organization and prioritization, including tracking multiple projects
  • Basic skills in computer systems, including Microsoft Office
  • Ability to follow processes and procedures
  • Ability to consistently meet attendance standards for regular, reliable, predictable, full-time attendance
  • Ability to travel overnight (approximately 2-4 times per month), and availability on weekends
